Shoe Size Converter
Convert any shoe size instantly across US, UK, EU, Japan, Korea, India, China and centimetres — for men and women. Every result is anchored to foot length, the one measurement that doesn't change between countries.
How the numbers are calculated
US and UK sizes are built on the barleycorn scale — each full size step is 1/3 inch (8.47 mm) of internal shoe length, with UK size 0 starting at 4 inches. EU sizes use the French Paris-point scale, where each point equals 2/3 cm — so a men's EU size is roughly (foot length in cm × 1.5) + a small constant. Japan, China, and Korea all use direct Mondopoint measurement: the number is your foot length in millimetres (Korea, rounded to the nearest 5 mm) or centimetres (Japan, China) — no conversion formula needed, it's a direct read of foot length. This is why Mondopoint-based sizes are considered the most accurate: they're the measurement itself, not a converted approximation.
India uses the same numbering as UK sizing — a UK 8 and an Indian 8 are the same size, a legacy of India's shoe industry adopting British sizing conventions. The main exception is a small number of Indian brands (Bata and Liberty among them) that run about half a size larger than the standard.

Size for the larger foot
Most people have one foot bigger. Go by the larger one, and size up if you're between two.
Check the brand note
The orange note flags brands known to run small or large so you can adjust.

How do I convert my US shoe size to UK?
For men, the UK size is one size smaller than the US (a US 9 is a UK 8). For women the gap is larger — about two sizes. Type your size into any box above to see the exact match, but anchor to your foot length for the most reliable result.
What is my EU shoe size if I'm a US 9?
A men's US 9 is roughly an EU 41.5, derived from a foot length of about 26.3 cm. EU sizes use the Paris-point scale measured on the shoe's last, so the conversion isn't a whole number.
Is foot length the same as shoe size?
No. Shoe size is based on the internal length of the shoe (the last), which is longer than your bare foot to leave room. Most charts assume around 1–1.5 cm of extra length over the foot.
Why do two shoes in the same size fit differently?
Every brand uses its own last and ease allowance. Nike and adidas often run about half a size small; Converse and Dr. Martens run large. The Brand Size Finder applies each brand's known tendency for you.
Should I size up if I'm between two sizes?
Usually yes — size up to the larger, and always fit the larger foot, since most people have one foot bigger. A snug shoe can't be stretched as easily as a slightly loose one can be padded.
