How to measure & use it

  1. Bust / chest

    Measure around the fullest part with arms relaxed, tape level and snug but not tight — or use our printable tape.

  2. Waist

    Measure the narrowest part of the torso, usually just above the belly button.

  3. Hips

    Measure the fullest part of the seat, standing naturally with feet together.

  4. Use the biggest controlling measurement

    For a dress, the largest of bust/waist/hip decides the size. Size up if you're between, or if the fabric has no stretch.

How these conversions are calculated

Women's sizes use the standard regional offsets (UK = US + 4, EU = US + 32, AU = UK) anchored to typical bust/waist/hip measurements in cm. Men's tops are anchored to chest measurement. Because clothing has no universal physical standard, brands differ by up to a full size — the body measurement is the real answer, so measure yourself and check the brand's own chart before buying.
